We all have a go-to travel outfit don’t we? It took me years to nail mine, but now I won’t wear anything else!
For years my brother would give me serious crap every time we ended up in the security line at the airport. I was always wearing shoes with laces, a handful of rings, and pants that needed a belt. It made security even more tedious than it already is. So, I have slowly but surely learned the error of my ways and have found my perfect go-to travel outfit.
Here is a list of the essentials:
Oversized t-shirt. I live in black t-shirts, but this high-low tunic style one is my favorite! I’m pretty sure you can’t even buy it anymore, but any oversized tee will work. Especially if it has a high-low style like this.
Leggings. I know lot’s of people have issues with leggings as pants, but when paired with the tunic I mentioned above, it’s acceptable. Plus I love leggings that have a bit of that extra something, like these ones with the zippers on the ankles. I also love the fabletics vast array of leggings with mesh panels.
Frye Boots. Lots of people will swear by slip ons or flip flops, but I love being able to get out of the car of off a plane and be ready to go start exploring and these boots are ideal for that. Frye isn’t a cheap option, but the quality, comfort, and overall coolness of them can not be beat. I can walk around all day long in these and my feet never hurt and the stretch and form to your feet, plus with one zipper down the back they’re super easy to slip on and off.
Cardigan or Jacket. I always keep a jacket with me when I’m traveling. I can never seem to regulate my temperature so this is a must no matter what the temperature is. If it’s cold, I pack a warmer jacket but wear something light around. If it’s warm, I keep something on hand just in case. Plus, if you’re not wearing it, it can function as a blanket or pillow in a pinch. Personally, I love a good leather biker jacket or, a new staple for me has been, a dark denim with patches, but anything will do.
What is your go-to travel outfit? Is it comfy like mine or do you like to dress up when you travel? I’d love to know!
